Program Summary

The Delaware STEM Educator Award recognizes a teacher or team of teachers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels that demonstrate STEM innovation and excellence through teaching, academic collaboration, and student engagement. A total of three unrestricted $5000.00 cash awards will be given to winning teachers or teams with an additional $3,000 to be divided among all finalists as determined by the audience following brief project “pitch” presentations.  A total of $1,750 will be awarded to three high school students demonstrating student engagement, with place order also determined by the audience. 

The Governor’s STEM Council definition of STEM education and the Council’s three goals are the basis for evaluation of exemplary STEM practice in the classroom.
