Recoding the Community Through 140 Lives | Rob Bentley | TEDxWilmingtonSalon

Youtube - TEDx

In response to the increasing social and digital divide growing in America and around the world, Rob Bentley harnessed the power of technology to draw communities together while "replacing idle hands with keyboards" in his program "Cyber Streets." His effort resulted in a high demand program to "recode the community" mindset of division and hopelessness across many at-risk communities and provide them with a self-sustaining solution for personal growth, unity, entrepreneurship, and opportunity. This program focuses on truly bridging the digital divide while building under-privileged, at risk communities to enter the highly deficient Cyber, IT, and Tech workforces around the world. -- Rob Bentley is a resident of Delaware where he proudly served for the United States Air Force and government as an award winning enterprise leader of one of the most elite forces of Cyber and IT. More importantly, about a year ago he embarked on his journey to develop a self-sustaining free framework for his community outreach program, Cyber Streets. The program utilizes volunteer mentors, local community resources, and unites businesses and non-profits to deliver on-demand Cyber, IT, business, and career skills to struggling communities and their families. Uniting together with other civic outreach programs, their charge is to harness the power of technology to uplift and empower the world a byte, youth, and community at a time. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
