On March 21, 2018 we invite educators, employers, postsecondary institutions, policymakers, and representatives from K-12 and community-based organizations to join us as we work together to equip all young people with the skills they need to compete in a global economy.
This year’s Delaware Pathways Conference will be held in partnership with the National College Access Network (NCAN). NCAN’s member organizations work with students to ensure that they are prepared to succeed in both college and career. Together, Delaware Pathways and NCAN are uniquely positioned to provide a rich professional development opportunity to conference attendees.
Participants will explore opportunities to build and strengthen school and community-based supports for students (including how to identify and pursue career pathways), understand, communicate and advise students on the variety of postsecondary options for youth, and support youth to continue their education to completion with a purpose.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn
more about how Delaware, as a national exemplar in career pathways work, is:

Addressing Critical Workforce Needs

Engaging employers and community partners in identifying critical workforce needs, integrating school and community-based college and career programming, and working across formal and in-formal learning opportunities to ensure a robust talent pipeline.
Connecting Students to College & Career Options

Providing support to youth as we rethink the student advisement process, engaging youth and their families in career, college, and financial discussions, and understanding how students’ interests and skills relate to a variety of postsecondary education options.
Expanding Equitable Access to Support Services

Leveraging the support of state agencies, schools, and community-based organizations to better prepare youth who are at-risk of high school graduation to find a meaningful college and career path, which includes organizing supports for youth with disabilities, expanding college and career supports, and building social and emotional supports for youth and families.
Leveraging Existing Resources

Partnering across state agencies, schools, and community-based organizations to identify and scale evidence-based programs, establishing infrastructure and funding sources to strengthen existing and college and career preparation services, and networking to build shared knowledge and best practices.
