Schools and community-based organizations serving students can now apply for a $500 "mini-grant" to offset transportation-related costs for groups of students attending the Delaware Pathways Student EXPO, taking place on Wednesday, March 21st from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
Aimed at students, parents and guardians, the Student EXPO is a free event providing ‘hands on’ opportunities for youth to learn more about the broad range of career pathways offered across Delaware’s schools. Participants will also learn about the programs, partners, supports, and services that can help youth and adults prepare for a successful transition into the workforce. New this year is an industry sector showcase, highlighting the broad range of careers available in the healthcare sector. Staff from the Christiana Care Health System and Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children will be on hand to talk about career opportunities in Allied Health, giving a window into the biggest and fastest growing industry sector in Delaware.
A limited number of mini-grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We will also collect a waiting list for additional schools/organizations, should additional grants become available. To qualify, applicants must commit to transporting 30-50 high school students to/from the EXPO, and are responsible for arranging their bus directly. Use of the “mini-grant” is not restricted to bussing and can be used to support chaperones, transportation, or other supports as needed.
