Please join us from 9:45-11:00 a.m. at Penn Farm as William Penn High School celebrates Ag Day with the DuPont Company. Thanks to DuPont, a one acre pollination field has been awarded to Penn along with an enclosed beehive with a transparent viewing wall. The grant was awarded after the Delaware Chamber of Commerce recognized Penn as one of Delaware’s Superstars in Education. Come help us sow the field with wildflower seeds after the land is dedicated to teacher, Kathleen Pickard, who helped start the district’s award-winning Farm-to-School program.
There will be a tour of the outdoor Ag department, and Culinary Arts students will serve up farm fresh food during a brief program at the Penn Farm Barn. You won’t want to miss the presentation, field dedication and, of course, the bees and other livestock cared for by the students. Wear comfortable shoes to come down on the farm!
